RESURRECTION

Just a quick un to announce my resumption of this comic. Today marks one year since I slipped on some ice and landed on my own leg. Been a long time but I'm still affected by it which is all the more reason to keep telling the story. I will have a new chapter up within the week. I will abandon a few ideas for it that were of a complexity that quite frankly daunted me. The new chapter will thus be a lot plainer in style (though not as cruddy as the drawing in the strip below. So, soon...

Yay! Part 2

So, this is me mulling it over the day after. It's also me getting a little more comfortable with the Cintiq. Any Max Cannon fans in the readership might note an influence and it would flatter me but I didn't realise it would  be evocative of the great RED MEAT strip until I saw the repeated image laid out like that. Anyway, a happy accident.

Still some care needed with Manga Studio (what happened with the frame in the last panel on page 2 I don't know but I left it that way as I didn't mind the look of it).

Anyway, please enjoy and hopefully part 3 will be sooner to reach this space....

Part 1 ... Finally!

Hi patient people. Now, after months of things taking me away from this job I blitzed it and forced it through to "end of part one".

I was going to really work on it and make the drawing all creamy and polished but I stopped myself with the following thoughts:

the first part is about the injury happening and would benefit from some roughness

the first part is also me demonstrating, to myself if no one else, how I began to really get used to using the Wacom Cintiq which I used entirely to draw it

and it was dragging on so long I just needed to get it published.

So here it is, part one of Fibula, Snow Fall.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Sorry Sorry Sorry

I have done some further work this week but my ankle has started really hurting. This is due to the Statute of Recovery that requires each new stage of rehabilitation (from hopping with crutches to walking with them to walking with them but in normal shoes rather than a moonboot to walking with only one crutch to walking with a limp) is another start at zero. I need to walk but not so much as to  cause the swelling in my ankle that contributes most of the pain. This means that the nights I would have spent sliding the stylus o'er the surface of the Cintiq have for this week been spent in stretching and standing exercises and a lot of foot in bucket o' ice water. Just sitting at a desk at the end of the day starts hurting almost as much as it did when I had the cast on. This is already improving but it is also slow. My physio is very happy with my progress but I wish I could channel my own impatience with it into drawing.  Sigh... 't'will happen.
